The trip from Fortaleza to Bahia was long (15 hours) but some
of the small villages along the way made it worth the journey.

Candomblé is a set of primitive religious practices imported by slaves from Africa.
I went to watch the ceremony imvoking their god of peace.
Everyone had to be dressed in white, and people got in trance while dancing !
very impressive and tribal. A must see for antrhopology fans !
Unfortunately filming was not allowed so no footage.
Our tourguide (above) had probably seen this stuff a few times and enjoyed about
a dozen beers before he fell asleep in the van on the way back to the center...

Left: ARNO is a brand of electro-domestics, including fans, but also cooking gear etc..

Right: Ethanol fuel is available all over the country and is made essentially
from sugar cane, just like Ron, or Brazilian Cachaça !
